Looking ahead
Taking a break at work and thought I would post some thoughts on how I want my lizardmen to look at 2000 points. Last night I was putting skinks together and getting ready to paint up my next batch of units when I realized I should probably get an end game plan going for my army. So I came up with this list today, keeping in mind what models I own:
Slann - Cupped Hands, Standard of Discipline, Focus of Mystery, The Becalming, The Focused Rumination, BSB
Scar-Vet - Light Armour, Shield, Venom of the Fire Fly Frog
27 Saurus Warriors - Full Command, Spears
2 x 10 Skink Skirmishers
5 Chameleon Skinks
20 Temple Guard - Musician, Banner, Banner of Eternal Flame
10 Cold One Cavalry - Gleaming Pennant
2 Salamanders
2000 Points
My big problem is that I want to build this unit:
I want to build a fun army but I don't want it to get rolled over consistently. I posted the list up on Lustria-Online so I'm hoping I get some feed back. Anyway I should get back to work.

That looks like a cool army, I'd consider putting a scar-vet in the cold-one unit and maybe even giving them the razor banner (gotta love an additional -1 armor save penalty) or the extra d6 on the charge banner. This unit would be a great flanker for anything that engages your big blocks in the front.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I have a bunch of the OOP LM models and I kind of like their look, they have a charm about them. What do you think about the following slaan in this ebay auction for the money?

And how about this for a scar vet or another slaan maybe?:

If you have a bunch of oop models I would definitely think about the old school slann. You could have a lot of fun painting that model.
Wow, those are really sweet looking, thanks for sharing that link! Looks like they have the new halbreds with the old models.
ReplyDeleteHe just set up a blog showcasing his work. Its out of this world.
